Originator Sessions are topic based, group business strategy workshops for starting-out entrepreneurs and solopreneurs to make connections, receive validation from peers, and gain tactical guidance from a seasoned strategist.
Sessions are 90-minutes to 2-hours each. We accept 5-7 women max per session.
We match participants for each group based on complementary experience, background, skill set, business type and stage so that the group can gain the most value from one another as possible.

What are Originator Sessions?
Originator Sessions are intimate group business strategy workshops for starting-out entrepreneurs and solopreneurs to talk through their business idea, receive validation from peers and get tactical guidance from a seasoned business strategist.
What Does Originator Mean?
The Origination Phase is the first phase of building a business after you’ve (mostly) clarified your idea. It’s the phase when entrepreneurs / solopreneurs / owners / startup leaders align with themselves internally and set the direction for what’s ahead. While entrepreneurs / solopreneurs / owners / startup leaders are in this phase of growth we refer to them as Originators.
How do I know if I am an Originator?
We’re going to answer that question with more questions back to you! Do you have an idea? Are you at the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey? Are you feeling like you need some clarity to help you move forward? If you answer yes to all those questions you are an Originator!
How do select participants?
We are looking for participants to have a desire to grow their business, in-time; a willingness to share their challenges and learn from others; to have a (mostly) clarified idea.
We are looking for women in varying industries and sectors to nurture cross-connective thinking in each session.
How do you match the group for each session?
We match participants for each group based on complementary experience, background, skill set, business type and stage so that the group can gain the most value from one another as possible.
How does it work if I am selected?
If you are selected we will send you an invitation to join with a link to process payment. We ask that you process payment within hours of receiving the invitation to secure your spot.
Where do Originator Sessions take place?
We host sessions virtually. We’ve chosen this format for max flexibility to fit with your life AND to cultivate opportunities to connect with like-minded women around the world. Yes, world!
What value will I get out of a session?
Connections. Space to talk. Strategic insights.
What’s going to get your business going is having people who *know* you and who believe in you to support, catalyze and spread the word about your idea. The intimate quality of these sessions creates the opportunity for you to cultivate those connections. Participants of each session walk away with at minimum 2-5 new, strong connections. We also ask that leaving each session each participant be open to making at least two thoughtful introductions amongst the group to help broaden each other’s networks and trove of supporters.
Additionally, having space to talk about your idea, and to tap into the universal-shared entrepreneurial experience with like-minded women will give you validation.
Alison will also share insights and strategic guidance from all the businesses she’s helped build.
What if I am farther along than AN Originator but am still interested in these sessions?
Apply! If we receive applications from entrepreneurs who we feel would be a good match with you, we will open up a session to match you with those participants. Our main aim is to ensure you are matched in a group that we believe will yield the most value to you.
What is the format of the Sessions?
Each participant receives dedicated coaching time amongst the group facilitated by Alison with contributions and ideas from the group. We cap the sessions at 5-7 women for that reason, to keep sessions as intimate and targeted as possible. Each participant gets their core questions answered and also receives the contextual learning from hearing each others’ experiences, challenges, and ideas.
What kind of requirements are there for participants?
No requirements *but* we do have an encouragement/ask! We ask that leaving each session each participant be open to making at least two thoughtful introductions amongst the group to help broaden each other’s networks and trove of supporters.
Can I go to more than one Originator Session?
Yes. So much about these sessions is about making new, quality connections. And different sessions focus on different themes and create an opportunity to connect and work through business challenges with new women.
Is there a way to stay in touch after the Sessions?
Yes. All participants are invited to join our private Facebook community, The Big Whisper.
